#48 Art Chantry
If you are a graphic designer that likes the roughed up look--the grungy look, then chances are you've been influenced by Art Chantry, whether you know it or not. He made a name for himself by making fucked-up graphics for bands like, oh I dunno... Mudhoney, The Makers, Nirvana, The Breeders and labels like Estrus, Sub-Pop and tons of others.Art started out in Seattle, but now lives in St. Louis. He has an exhibit up right now at the Philip Slein Gallery (details here). The posters are for sale, and if you hurry you might be able to still catch the show. If not check out Art's web store at (you guessed it) ArtChantry.com. There is also a book about him entitled: Some People Can't Surf by Julie Lasky and you can pick that up here.
