A: Lo-Fi Cherokee is an annual event wherein we shoot one-take music videos in various locations on Cherokee Street in a single day.
Q: How can my band participate in Lo-Fi Cherokee?
A: Submissions open around November to January each year. Stay updated on our social media channels to know when to apply.
Q: What are the requirements for a band to participate?
A: Bands should perform original music, haven't participated in a previous Lo-Fi Cherokee within the last ten years, fill out the submission form before the deadline, and be available on the event day. Although local bands are preferred, non-local bands must cover their own travel expenses to St. Louis.
Q: What do I need to submit my act for consideration?
A: The submission form will require information about your band, a bio, sample tracks, and optional photos and videos.
Q: How are bands chosen to participate in Lo-Fi Cherokee?
A: Our advisory committee, consisting of previous Lo-Fi Cherokee participants, review all submissions and make the final selections.
Q: Why didn’t my band get picked for Lo-Fi Cherokee?
A: We receive hundreds of submissions each year, and while we strive to include as many genres as possible, it is not feasible to include all. If not selected, bands are encouraged to reapply next year.
Q: When is the Lo-Fi Cherokee event held?
A: The event typically occurs on one of the first two Saturdays of April every year.
