Every thing you ever wanted to know
about LO-FI SAINT LOUIS
LO-FI SAINT LOUIS was launched in February of 2005 with high hopes and low expectations. I’m happy to say that looking back that my hopes for the site have nearly all come to pass and my all expectations have been exceeded.
The original primary focus of this blog was to cover the local music scene in St. Louis, but over time I’ve expanded that focus to include other things and happenings in town that strike my interest. So on any given week you may find in addition to the music, mini documentary features about an artist or another event.
People behind LO-Fi SAINT LOUIS
Bill Streeter, creator, producer
I am (in no particular order) a graphic designer, A/V geek, husband, dad, artist, thinker, tinkerer, teacher and some other things that I can’t think of right now. I’ve lived in St. Louis since early 2001. Prior to that I lived in Chicago for 11 years. I grew up in north central Illinois until I joined the Air Force in the ’80s. While in the Air Force I studied art and art history offered through the Community College of the Air Force. After the Air Force I studied film at Columbia College, Chicago. I also blog at BillStreeter.net.
Bowls MacLean
Camera Guy
Bowls and I studied film at Columbia College. But we never really knew each other very well untill we found one another living in St. Louis.
Kopper
Guidance, promotion and all around good guy.
Kopper is my next door neighbor and long time friend. We’ve known each other for over 20 years.

This band is practically a St. Louis institution, except they might have a problem with being called a St. Louis band, since their official headquarters is in DeSoto Missouri. They've probably had more success overseas than here, most recently tourin...
Last February Tom Huck, printmaker extraordinaire, called me up and begged and pleaded with me to come cover this event of print makers from around the country who had converged on the Contemporary Art Museum to sell prints and socialize. I had alrea...
This is the second time around on Lo-Fi Saint Louis for the Boss Martians. The first time was back in 2005 at the now defunct Little Nicky's Gearbox. That was when we captured an early performance of Hey Hey Yeah Yeah which is now famous as the sound...
When was the last time you saw a marching band that just completely rocked? Until I saw Chicago's own punk rock marching band, Mucca Pazza I hadn't either. This 25 to 35 member marching band nearly blew the Bluebird down a couple of months ago. This ...
This is a 4 piece band with 2 members--I could make a lot of punny jokes here, like, this is a band that likes to play with themselves blah blah etc. Basically they've done something unique and creative. They play 4 instruments between them by multip...
This band has been kicking around St. Louis for the last 12 years or so. Amazingly, I really haven't shot video of them until now. I did catch Craig Daddy and with his other band (The Car Bombs) about a year ago, but this is the first time I've shot ...
If you own the Nuggets box set or are a big fan of '60s garage rock, you may already know about this band from Keokuk, Iowa, and their contribution to the set, "Blackout of Gretely." If you don't know what Nuggets is, it's a collection of music recor...
Angleo Moore (whom you may know as the lead singer of Fishbone) came to City Museum to perform as Dr. Madd Vibe, his poetry dropping alter ego. It was quite an interesting performance in a very unique space.
Also in this episode, a peek at our oth...
KDHX held this crazy fundraiser at the South Broadway Atletic Club back in December--they destroyed art! ... And sold a lot of it too! It was a lot of fun. KDHX is a not for profit community media corporation. They operate KDHX Radio and KDHX TV, che...
This is the second time around on LO-FI STL for this band that hails from Louisville KY/Chattanooga TN/Port Arthur TX. Even though they're not from St. Louis they've managed to develop a good following here so sometimes they seem like hometown boys. ...
This is the first episode of LO-FI SAINT LOUIS for the new Spring '08 season.
This episode features Monte Beauchamp, artist and curator of Blab Magazine and other publications. He was in St. Louis last fall for the launch of the latest issue of th...
Hey I just wanted to let you know what is going on with LO-FI SAINT LOUIS. You might have noticed I have only posted once video since Christmas. Well there is a reason for that ... I'm taking a break. I'm not quitting. I just need a break to recharge...
Catching up on some of the stuff I shot at the Show-Me Blowout. Here is Left Arm with "No Time For Rock'n'Roll" from their new album which you can download for free here. Enjoy!
Stay tuned for a big announcement coming soon!
