Last February Tom Huck, printmaker extraordinaire, called me up and begged and pleaded with me to come cover this event of print makers from around the country who had converged on the Contemporary Art Museum to sell prints and socialize. I had already planned to shoot another event that very night but figured that I could squeeze in about an hour at this show before I hit the other event. I’m glad I did, because this was a party like no other. Complete with wild art and poetry and music–there were even half nude performance artists from Estonia. This was nothing short of a blast.
Thanks to The Black Diamond Heavies and their label Alive Records for letting me use their music for the soundtrack for this video. It’s from their record “Every Damn Time” and they have a new record out called “A Touch Of Someone Else’s Class” both are available in most record stores (if you can find one) and iTunes. Here’s a link to all that info.
Also check out the Circuit for more fun!

This was a good one. And if Huck ever decides to ditch printmaking, he definitely has a future as a game show host!
Yo that was another amazing Lo-fi Art piece….Props to huck from making this happen in the Lou…They need to give Sean Star Wars his own Mountain dew bottle!
I want to hang out with these fuckers! They’re INSANE! Great Black Diamond Heavies track, great editing, brilliantly presented by Mr Huck.
Multi-vagina’d Siamese twins? French-kissing John Wayne Gacy clowns? Snotty heads? Pantless Estonians en fuego?
Gawd, New York City just sucks. It sucks.
i’m in trouble if this guy decides he wants my job!
Awesome adult entertainment! I’ve never seen a place so dense with smartasses. Great energy. Definitely work with that guy again.
Some demons were unleashed in this video… I want to put them back in and rip them out over and over!
Yeah, wait, that was huck doin the introductions… he freaking rocks at it. Great to have someone who’s on the inside going around and introducing people he know and giving the inside scoop. I hope you find more people like him willing to take you into their worlds and step up to the mic and do the introductions. Awesome video. Once again I’m overwhelmed by the stl scene.
BTW, love the new homepage… love it… I’m using it over and over as my primary navigation for finding the videos like this that I like. So user friendly. Way better then a vertically scrolling blog. That and the full screen viewing button from blip offer a great experience… need more ways to favorite this on my favorite social tools though… maybe I should just reblog you… when all else fails. But seriously I can’t read something without digging it, or favoriting it on youtube, vimeo… it would be awesome if you could not only cross post to some of these services but also automatically enterlink to them.
Currently going over to all the other services you’re on to favorite my favorite shows and see what else is going on. Been to long.. and all this time lofi just keeps getting better.
Oh, btw, also love the little advert type things at the end.
Yeah, we should catch up via phone or IM sometime. The next time I’m chilling out having a beer I’m going to call you.
