Thanks Bill, many great memories of Fishbone playing Philly in late 80’s and 90’s. Shame they’re not hitting East coast this tour. Maybe “Ma and Pa” for part 2?

  2. Cheryl:

Rock! You chose a great song to vlog. The performance brought so much to it that you wouldn’t see just listening. Hilarious! Thanks, Bill. I (heart) Fishbone.

  3. Jarod:

Haven’t heard any Fishbone in a while!

    Can’t wait for part 2.

so my long lost buddy, paul d, tells me about this band named phonocaptors and being i am a music buff i go online to allmusic.com and search for phonocaptors…..nada…..not to be denied i click over to google and search phonocaptors and somehow come to this site, being from st. louis i noticed this is a local band and apparently this is a local site (for me anyways). i’m kinda freaking out all of a sudden tripping on the nicely produced buzzing bee video for the phonocaptors tune who by the way sounded mighty tasty. once i confirmed my buddy paul called it correctly (phonocaptors are worthy)… i ventured my arrow across the decked page and clicked on this video of Fishbone who btw happen to be one of my favorites from years past, i felt compelled to post a compliment to the dude who did this, to the folks at the city museum for creating the very cool set that fishbone is seen here performing at, i would say top shelf venue….so now i am kicking myself in the ass for hanging out in the suburbs for so long and not realizing i should be at the city museum catching the next show.
    peace

#227 Ded Bugs

This band is practically a St. Louis institution, except they might have a problem with being called a St. Louis band, since their official headquarters is in DeSoto Missouri. They've probably had more success overseas than here, most recently tourin...

#226 Prints Gone Wild III

Last February Tom Huck, printmaker extraordinaire, called me up and begged and pleaded with me to come cover this event of print makers from around the country who had converged on the Contemporary Art Museum to sell prints and socialize. I had alrea...

#225 The Boss Martians

This is the second time around on Lo-Fi Saint Louis for the Boss Martians. The first time was back in 2005 at the now defunct Little Nicky's Gearbox. That was when we captured an early performance of Hey Hey Yeah Yeah which is now famous as the sound...

#224 Mucca Pazza

When was the last time you saw a marching band that just completely rocked? Until I saw Chicago's own punk rock marching band, Mucca Pazza I hadn't either. This 25 to 35 member marching band nearly blew the Bluebird down a couple of months ago. This ...

#223 The Livers

This is a 4 piece band with 2 members--I could make a lot of punny jokes here, like, this is a band that likes to play with themselves blah blah etc. Basically they've done something unique and creative. They play 4 instruments between them by multip...

#222 The Trip Daddys

This band has been kicking around St. Louis for the last 12 years or so. Amazingly, I really haven't shot video of them until now. I did catch Craig Daddy and with his other band (The Car Bombs) about a year ago, but this is the first time I've shot ...

#221 GONN!

If you own the Nuggets box set or are a big fan of '60s garage rock, you may already know about this band from Keokuk, Iowa, and their contribution to the set, "Blackout of Gretely." If you don't know what Nuggets is, it's a collection of music recor...

#220 Angelo Moore (AKA Dr. Madd Vibe)

Angleo Moore (whom you may know as the lead singer of Fishbone) came to City Museum to perform as Dr. Madd Vibe, his poetry dropping alter ego. It was quite an interesting performance in a very unique space. Also in this episode, a peek at our oth...

#219 Art Attack!

KDHX held this crazy fundraiser at the South Broadway Atletic Club back in December--they destroyed art! ... And sold a lot of it too! It was a lot of fun. KDHX is a not for profit community media corporation. They operate KDHX Radio and KDHX TV, che...

#218 Black Diamond Heavies

This is the second time around on LO-FI STL for this band that hails from Louisville KY/Chattanooga TN/Port Arthur TX. Even though they're not from St. Louis they've managed to develop a good following here so sometimes they seem like hometown boys. ...

I know that this is late because Hanukkah ended a week or so ago, but I thought I would share Brave Combo playing the Hanukkah Song anyway.
