I saw Blowfly in the mid/late nineties with the Brand New Heavies backing him up (he was opening for them), but the Heavies apparently got freaked out by his lyrics and left the stage after a couple of songs.. I don't think "Rap Dirty" counts as an actual rap/hip-hop recording but it is certainly a notable precursor/foreshadowing.. Whoa! :) missed this one..
