I love the munnies, and I think the DIY aspect to them is cool and fosters creativity, but I'm with MM on the art/commercial product thing. It's odd to me, as is the entire limited edition vinyl toy craze. I'm just baffled by it. But I love the little munnies! I am so conflicted!

You, sir, have once again edited a fine, fine video. You're an editing fiend.

Watched it again a couple times. :)

a) what's with that one dude calc's shirt, sort of funny, but I want to see what's with his $8 target shirt? There's one clip of his shirt, and it just looks like a plain black T.

b) noticed the urinal faced munny loved that too.

c) there's something weird with the name... munnny... as in "printing your own munny"... but they're blank... so it's like writing a blank check.

d) while I dig it.. and it's DIY... what does it say when there's an art event completely centered around one companies product? It's commercial art. it's not a new theme though. Fisher price high at cam video film fests come to mind. I'm blnaking on others but I know there are some. Kodak sponsored tons of photographers over the years. And there have always been contests sponsored by companies. Anyway, screw videoblogs, vinyl dolls are the new medium. Maybe you could make some lofi brand teletubie type things that played lofi videos on little LCD screens on their stomach off of little flash cards. Trying to think of cheap little video flash card players that you can gut and put into a vinyl doll. The biggest issue is I think they have to loop/random play/play all so you can set them and forget them untill the batteries run out. Don't know if it matters if they have sound. I just see the lofi logo on constant play.

Very much enjoyed that. In fact I revlogged it at mmeiser.com/blog.

One question. Why no thumbnails and truncated posts on your category feeds: http://lofistl.com/category/documentaries/

I was wanting to link to that but since it was a poor representation I linked to mefeedia's instead

So... My favorite doll was the sockmonkey interpretation. This is definitely one of my favorites in a long list of favorites.

Amazing - think of all the effort and time put into all of them. Very cool. And the effort put into making & cutting this film - beautifully put together, as ever :)

Okay, those are some freaky dollies you St Louisians play with :) I'm guessing you had stills of the Munnys as well as the film. Nicely done.
